eric ellingsen taught "on nature" seminar at iit that produced these interesting models out of paper*.
"the purpose of the investigate models is to explore form finding techniques informed by the self-organizing behavior of natural systems.

i like the idea behind the seminar but i really do applause the simplicity of the medium to be represented.
unfortunately they were hidden on the basement of crownhall.

pinocchio

pinocchio is an interesting metaphor/analogy used by ben aranda and cris lasch at their lecture in iit, briefly presented here.
the typology of pinocchio could be compared with the typology of the grotto.
the grotto is a landscape type, as if pinocchio is a real boy.
they want to transcend the type.
