In these photos, the architecture reminds me Germany.
hi ggia* =]
in a way you could be right.
i am just reading that the building is going to become leed certified [green bldg]. this is going to be the first leed certified museum in usa. it will have a green roof and some other typical leed certified features.
the reason that i am mentioning this is because leed certified bldgs usually have a lot of glass, are well done but they don't have anything innovative regarding "green" other than the green roof or some green materials like the plyboo i have posted long time ago.
in a way this situation reminds me germany to some extend. quality guarantee. i want to see little bit more experiment though from adjaye's work**.
*by the way you have posted some really interesting photos to your blog recently
**german bldgs are not only steel and glass or boxes. some of the most important star architects like zaha hadid or frank gehry did some of their first [if not their first] bldgs there. so, a lot of experimentation.
I don't know a lot of Architecture. I observe the architecture from the photographic eye.
Recently (2 times March 07 and April 07) I was in Germany (Bonn and Darmstadt) and the photos here reminded germany.. These photos they don't remind me for example Holland, where you can find also architecture with glass..
I have some interesting architecture photos from Darmstadt. And when I will develop the films (and also find time to scan them) I will send you. Probably you would like to comment them.
In my blog I publish mostly old photos from my negatives, and I give some extra information if somebody wants to visit the place that I present.. ;-)
To make you jealous ;-).. next weekend I am traveling to Samothrace (through Komotini -> Alexandroupolis, your motherland) ;-)
you did it: you made me jealous!
i will definitely ask you info very soon about some places.
i can give you also some as an exchange ;)
looking forward for your new photos!
I'm glad you found this spot, I didn't know how to explain it to you so I left it off. I worked for an architect in the old warehouse across the street. We were actually involved in this competition.
its kind of funny; i was dragged to the surprise =]
i have to post the photos from my walk next to the river.
you guys have more bridges than chicago! ;]
